HornoRenten Exhibition 2010

The artistic circle in Japan has been very tight for many years.

In order to allow the collaboration of foreign artists, was born RENTEN. An association made by a group of teachers and art critics working since 1981 with the purpose of gathering annually the maximum number of artists to display their works.The exhibitions are not always done in the same place. The last event took place in the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum, one of the most emblematic museums in the capital of Japan.

 

 The museum is located in a park with huge gardens and near to the Tokyo University of the Arts.

This year had the collaboration of 88 artists including Fernando Coma, participating with three works of F-100 size (163x130 cm.), getting one of 13 awards and two honorable mentions.

The award is for the work "Ladrillos" and the mentions of the works "Luna" and "Bosque de color".
Being the first time that he had participated, can be consider a success to get those results, since understanding the Japanese culture, is considerate and assiduously respected competitions.
The awards ceremony took place at the hotel Seiyoken. Surrounded by magnificent and impressive trees “Icho” that in December are showing all its beauty and fall colors.
Are much admired in Japan and are producing a fruit (Ginnan) that is used to cook a classic dish (Chawanmushi) with presence in almost all menus in Japan.
It was an elegant lunch where a considerable number of artists were gathering. Because the participants were from different points of Japanese geography, could not attend all.
Fernando Coma attended, going from Fukuoka to Tokyo and, had the opportunity to meet some of the artist and within which cause profound impact to him, wants to highlight the work of Mr. Nami Sakamoto, an impressive artist of striking realism. After more than 15 years in Japan and being able to appreciate nuances of Japanese calligraphy considered art in all means, want to highlight the impeccable artistic calligraphy work of Ms. Shocho Mori.
Definitely, we can say that both, the participation and the results were positive to obtain in Japan recognition for the work of Fernando Coma.
